Translation (Tahereh Saffarzadeh): And Allah created your father the original being [Adam] from clay, then created you, [Adam's offspring] from a sperm-drop and He Ordained that you should have a mate and become a couple. And no woman gets pregnant nor she delivers her baby but is known to Allah, [since the whole plan is arranged by Allah] nor is a man long-lived [like Nuh] nor is a part of his life cut off but all is recorded in the Preserved Book; and all this is easy to Allah.
Translation (M.H. Shakir): And Allah created you of dust, then of the life-germ, then He made you pairs; and no female bears, nor does she bring forth, except with His knowledge; and no one whose life is lengthened has his life lengthened, nor is aught diminished of one's life, but it is all in a book; surely this is easy to Allah.

THE COMMENTARY

SWEET AND SALTY SEAS ARE NOT ALIKE

VERSE NO.11-12

The immediate reference here is to three stages of Man's creation; namely when it sprout out of the soil - when it was some drops of sperm - and when they became a handsome and becoming couple.

God's knowledge encompassed everything and every motion. No female bears a child or delivers her babe except by God's knowledge. Man's offspring, and how long or how short he lives, is controlled by God's knowledge, and governed by His universal natural laws and regulations. There prevails a governing system over all the universe, and the least deviation and disorder of that, will result in a great calamity and corruption.

The creation is so wonderful a matter that perplexes and puzzles every sound and safe mind, who thinks about it! What a similarity can be there between dust and intelligence, or an initiative man!? What has the worthless drop-sperm to do with the amazing construction that is called, ``MAN'' who is worthy-wise-strong-and handsome!? And what of the two sexes with all their similarities and dissimilarities?

We may say this in another word too:-

The Man who is so proud of his mental and spiritual faculties and who is going now to subdue the planet of Mars, after his conquest of the moon by his knowledge and power; at the beginning he had a lowly and worthless physical origin. His body is made of dust. He was turned at first to a drop of worthless sperm which was hidden in a place of shame, in his father's loin or in his mother's womb. Who could create such a wonderful creature from such that lowly material that is named, ``dust'' or soil. Why do we not want to think a little over our own creation and whatever is around us? Why should we forget and ignore our identity?

We derive whatever of power and knowledge we have, from our Graceful and Beneficent God, and yet we don't know it! All the things that are mysterious and unknown to man, are well known to God.

In the second verse some of other amazing signs of God have been painted to:-

``The two seas are not a like; this one clean, sweet, and delicious to drink, and the other salty bitter; yet from each of them you eat fresh meat, and extract ornament that you wear.''

The ocean is not only the main source of life for all the creatures including Man; it also has infinite other profits for them. We take out much of our better foods from the sea. The delicate flesh of fish, prawn, and other kinds of appetizing foods from marine creatures that we serve. We continually explore and extract the treasures of the ocean; such as pearl, coral, amber, and other precious things, and more of all, the great benefits of sailing huge ships, that cleave the waves and take our merchandises, wares, and goods, here and there throughout the world.
