Translation (Tahereh Saffarzadeh): Allah has created you all from a single soul; then created his mate from him. He has created eight head of domesticated cattle in pairs. He creates you [mankind] in the wombs of your mothers, one following other creation [sperm, blood-clot and embryo] in triple darkness: [the membrance, the womb and the hollow in which the womb is enclosed.] This is Allah your Creator& Nurturer, to Him belongs the Domination of the whole Existence and there is no God but He. Then how is it that you people turn away from the Way of your Mighty Creator?

Translation (M.H. Shakir): He has created you from a single being, then made its mate of the same (kind), and He has made for you eight of the cattle in pairs. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers-- a creation after a creation-- in triple darkness; that is Allah your Lord, His is the kingdom; there is no god but He; whence are you then turned away?

THE TRANSLATION

6- HE CREATED YOU FROM A SINGLE PERSON. THEN HE MADE OF HIM HIS MATE. AND HE SENT DOWN FOR YOU OF THE CATTLE, EIGHT PAIRS.
HE CREATES YOU IN YOUR MOTHER'S WOMB; CREATION AFTER CREATION, IN A THREEFOLD DARKNESSES. THIS IS ALLAH YOUR LORD. TO HIM BELONGS THE KINGDOM. THERE IS NO GOD EXCEPT HIM. THEN WHERE TO, ARE YOU PERVERTING?

THE COMMENTARY

YOU ARE ALL CREATED FROM A SINGLE PERSON

VERSE NO.6-7

``And He created you of one single person.''

The immediate reference here is to Adam, of who's remainder of building material Eve was created and then Mankind was created in the mothers womb, stage by stage, and creation after creation.

*****

The creation of Adam and Eve as narrated in the Bible (Gen.2:7&21) is as follows:-

``7- Then the Lord God took some soil from the ground and formed a man out of it. (The Hebrew word for ``man'' and ``ground'' have similar sound) He then breathed a life-giving breath into his nostrils and the man began to live.

21- Then the Lord God made the man to fall into a deep sleep, and while he was sleeping, He took out one of the ribs of Adam, and closed up the flesh. He formed a woman out of the rib and brought her to him. Then the man said:- ``At last here is one of my own kindِbone taken from my bone and flesh from my flesh.''

TRANSLATOR'S NOTE

Then mention is made of the creation of the cattle which is in all aspects to the benefit of manِthe flesh, the milk, the wool, the mount, the skin, and whatever they may have, can be used for the welfare of Man:-

``....And He sent down for you of the cattle eight pair.''

These are males and females of the sheep, goat, cow and camel.

As to the clause:- ``He sent down for you the cattle'' The Arabic, ``ANZALA'' translated to, ``sent down'' has other shades of meaning too; like, entertainment and creation, used elsewhere in Qurän. As an instance, in S 3:198 it has been used so as to give the mystical meaning of, ``entertainment''. This will imply that all the being things and creatures, at first existed in some spiritual form, in the knowledge and power treasure of God, in the unseen world. Then they have appeared as creatures in the present visible world.

In other word, the bulk stores and mines of everything is with God, and he sends it down in due measures.

Then there is a brief reference to our creation in the mother's womb stage after stage and creation after creation.

The embryologists now believe that the fetus in its early stages of development is one of the most wonderful phenomenon of creation, so much so that the embryology is another name now for theology. rare are those who study the embryo's early stages of development within the mother's body, and do not celebrate the praise of Allah the All-knowing Creator:-

``Then where to are you perverting!?''
